Three FREE July concerts on
Tuesday evenings since 2014 on Center Stage in Lakeville.
An annual event in its 14th year.
We celebrate art and culture throughout the day with a variety of music, art, food, history and more.
Each year, the Lakeville Arts Council awards grants to cultural programs for our local community through the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
On Friday, March 23rd, 54 art students from Apponequet Regional High School took at field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA). The trip was sponsored through a grant from the Lakeville Arts Council, so the buses were free. This meant each student only had to pay the $7 admission price to get into the Museum. While at the MFA, we got to see a variety of artwork within different exhibitions and collections. Julianna Sheridan, a student taking AP Studio Art and Art II this year, said her favorite piece in the museum is by Frida Kahlo in the “Making Modern” Exhibition. Max Wilensky, a student currently taking Mixed Media, said his favorite piece is of a large red dragon in the “Takashi Murakami: Lineage of Eccentrics” Exhibition. Some of my favorite pieces at the museum are by painters like Claude Monet and Georgia O’Keefe. Overall, I’d say the experience was eye-opening and everyone had a lot of fun admiring the wide range of artwork at the MFA. This was written by Hailee Simmons (senior).
